Harbor Watch Summer Internships

Harbor Watch works in conjunction with the Norwalk Mayor’s Water Quality Committee to provide two college students with the chance to work in water quality monitoring. The intern’s time is split between the City’s Health Department monitoring public beach water quality and assisting Harbor Watch on Norwalk River and tributary monitoring efforts. Interns will be trained by Harbor Watch staff to become team leaders and lead volunteers out in the field and the laboratory. Over the course of the summer interns will learn how to use water quality monitoring equipment and proper monitoring techniques, laboratory maintenance, and supply upkeep. At the end of the summer, the interns will compile their data and compose a scientific paper on their findings.
