Camp Programs

Preschool Aged Children 3yrs, 4yrs & 5yrs
Campers in this part of camp are organized into co-ed groups by the class they are entering in the fall. 3’s, 4’s and kindergartners  will use the Earthplace Preschool Classrooms. Campers stay with their counselors throughout the day while they participate in activities including trail walks, crafts, playground, water play, story time, music, and experiences related to the theme of the week. A Species Ambassador visits the classroom twice a week. Snack is provided and children bring their own peanut free lunch. Please contact Earthplace.

Traditional Camp Grades 1st-7th
First through seventh graders attend co-ed groups divided by the grade they are entering in the fall. Counselors will guide their group of campers throughout the day to pre-assigned activity areas. Four days a week campers will be brought by bus to the Y's downtown facility for free swim after which they will return to camp at Earthplace. Each week campers will also go on an off site field trip related to the weeks theme. Please contact
Earthplace.

Trackers Program Grades 5-8
Campers will spend the majority of their time discovering all about nature while on field trips around CT. While these campers will not be participating in most on site camp activities, they will be learning and exploring with our great staff. Space is limited in this popular program so don't wait to register. Please contact Earthplace.

Leaders in Training (LIT) Entering 8th - 9th grade - Ages 13 & 14
LITs will be spending their time making the exciting transition from camper to role model. They will alternate between traditional camp activities and leadership development. This experienced camper will gain important skills for working with school-age children and assisting counselors and CITs.

Special Cares Grades 1st-7th
Our Special Cares program offers children with physical and mental disabilities a traditional day camp experience. Mainstreamed as far as their ability allows, Special Cares campers are assigned an age-appropriate summer camp group. The staff to camper ratio is 1:1 or 1:2, providing the camper with the attention and encouragement needed to develop at his or her own pace. Please email Mahackeno or call 203.226.8981 x179 for registration information.

Special Events Week
This is a fun-filled week of summer after the regular 8 weeks of camp. Many of the regular activities continue with the addition of a few special events. Space is limited, and early sign-up is recommended.

Extended Care
We know that some families may need a little extra time at camp. For an additional fee, campers can arrive as early as 8 am and be picked up as late as 4 or 6 pm depending on age. These programs are signed up for on a weekly schedule. We suggest parents pack an extra non-refrigerated snack for the campers if they are staying util 6 pm.
