Earthplace is looking for businesses and organizations
interested in participating in the Green Earth Fair. All must support
the Earthplace mission: helping people of all
ages learn about ways to preserve and protect nature and the
environment. The Green Earth Fair is intended to educate
visitors about “living a green life” and will include topics such as
climate change, green energy sources, energy conservation, alternative
energy vehicles, green building products and services, protection of watersheds and
water quality, local wildlife and land use issues, recycling, organic
products, sustainable living and environmental legislation.
The Green Earth Fair will take place on
our grounds at 10 Woodside Lane in Westport, CT. The
facilities and planned activities include:

A large 40 x 100' tent for exhibitors and
community groups |

Additional grass areas nearby for
exhibitors with their own tents and/or canopies (size restricted) |

Outdoor tent with marine touch tank and
displays on local watersheds and harbors |

A museum building with:
- animal encounters in a nature study classroom

auditorium for family activities and animal lectures
- room for up to 50 people for adult
lectures
- crafts room for young children
- large interactive nature discovery
room with nature dioramas and play areas
- animal hall with snakes, owls, ferrets, guinea pigs, turtles and
other birds
- rest rooms, a water fountain and a gift shop |

This will be the 6th year that Earthplace
has hosted a large nature and environmental event in April. All
activities can be enjoyed rain or shine.

Food Vendors

- Food vendors must possess and display a valid
food license from the
Westport/Weston

Events for the necessary documents.
- Food vendors must bring all necessary equipment,
merchandise, food products, utensils, sanitation, supplies, trash
removal, labor, tables, chairs extension cords, umbrellas and any
other materials required to run their operation.
- No alcoholic beverages of any kind may be sold.
Permits and Inspections
- All vendors shall maintain public liability
insurance.
Set-up and Break-down
- Vendor/exhibitor entry to Earthplace begins at 8
AM on Saturday. All shall be set up and ready to go for the
Green Earth Fair opening at 11 AM and will be expected to remain
open until the Fair closes at 4 PM. The Fair will continue on
Sunday from 12 to 4 PM.
- Vehicles used to transport merchandise, vendor
carts and equipment must be parked in a designated parking lot outside of the
exhibition area. Only equipment necessary for operation
can remain inside the vendor area.
- No generators or hot plates may be used.
- All tents or booths must be free standing.
Exhibitors
- If requested in advance, exhibitors will be
provided with a 6 ft table (additional $10 rental fee) and two chairs.
Otherwise any materials needed by exhibitors are their own
responsibility.
- Earthplace will provide a 10'x10' foot clear space
for each vendor.
- Exhibitors with their own tents can set up on a
grass area near the main exhibition tent and the museum building.
Space is limited to 10'x10', although multiple adjoining sites can
be rented.
Clean-up
- Each vendor/exhibitor is responsible for cleaning
the area surrounding their booth, and for removing the packaging,
boxes, waste foods, cooking oils and other materials
related to their operation.
- Vendors/exhibitors will be responsible for any
damage they cause to the properties of Earthplace.
Publicity

Earthplace will post all vendor
names and website links on the event's website page.

Visitors will receive a program
listing the events, exhibitors and contact info. The deadline
to be included in the program is April 18, 2008.

Earthplace will advertise the event
in local newspapers and through press releases, posters and event
signs.
