Yuck Day

| The theme of the 9th annual Yuck Day was
"Mysteries of the Night." Guests enjoyed a fun shadow
puppet show from Nappy's Puppets. Earthplace naturalists,
volunteers and Junior Staff offered yucky exhibits to examine and spooky crafts
to create. Guests explored the interactive exhibits in Natureplace and got
a close-up look at many of the resident Earthplace animals, including
snakes, millipedes and a tarantula. Animal Hall volunteer Andy Todd
gave a special presentation about snakes and brought out Maizie the corn
snake (who ate a rat in front of the crowd), Fluffy the pine/black snake,
and Barney, the 12 foot Burmese python.
