Dinner for the Critters

Friday February 27, 2009

The Dinner for the Critters is a pasta dinner in support of the resident animals at Earthplace.  Guests enjoyed pasta, salad, bread and drinks served by Earthplace staff, Animal Care volunteers and the Junior Curators, a group of 4th through 6th graders who learned about care and maintenance of the Earthplace animal ambassadors.  After dinner the Junior Curators presented an animal program and talked about important facts about each animal.  Barney, our Burmese python, was a particular favorite. The animals included ferrets, turtles, snakes, doves, rabbits and a bat.  After the program everyone enjoyed a dessert of milk and cookies and said good-night to the animals in the Animal Hall.

The unbridled enthusiasm of this session’s intimate group was enormous! The 2009 Jr. Curators would like to thank:

  • The attendees and especially the members of CLASP, who attended and helped make our event a resounding success!
  • The Earthplace Staff and volunteers for their assistance and support of the event
  • Earthplace Trustees: Jim Meany, Carolyn Trabuco, Paul Lobdell, Tony Eason and Rob Chasin for their financial support
  • Stew Leonard’s Charity Crusaders for their donation
  • Pet Talk’s Lauren Collier and crew, for filming and airing a segment promoting the Dinner
  • Zach Ross, the star of the aforementioned Pet Talk segment
