Earthplace naturalist Margaret Ardwin oversaw a wide variety of fun activities for children, including: creating a terrarium for moss; making an anteater puppet from construction paper, an old sock and a pipe cleaner; constructing a moving stick person or butterfly out of cardboard; making a fish print; hanging shells, pine cones, pasta and other fun materials from a wire hanger to make a mobile and using paper bags to fashion a raccoon puppet. There was a sand table to play with and a tub with bubble wands to try. Special guest Stacy Lytwyn Maxwell brought her recent book Consummate Connecticut: Day Trips with Panache for visitors to look at for ideas on places to visit in the state. The book is on sale in the Earthplace Museum Store. Click on a picture to enlarge it.
