Butterfly specialist Larry Gall, Curatorial Associate from the Peabody Museum of Natural History, led visitors on a hunt around the Earthplace sanctuary to look for butterflies and moths.  This annual census is sponsored by the Xerces Society and the North American Butterfly Association.  A total of 9 butterfly species was sighted, including the Eastern tiger swallowtail, hoary edge skipper, cabbage white and spotted fritillary butterfly.
