Family Campfire - Bats August 23, 2003 |

Naturalists Margaret Ardwin and Jim Hunter talked about the bats that are found in CT, particularly the big brown and little brown bats. A little brown bat, which had been found injured and rehabilitated at Earthplace, was brought around to examine. Kids learned how a bat locates food by trying to find their "prey" by sound while being blindfolded. Everyone enjoyed making and eating s'mores while looking for bats at twilight.
